Yuletide Season......

Traditionally, Christmas Day in the Philippines is ushered in by the nine-day dawn masses that start on December 16. Known as the Misa de Gallo (Rooster's Mass) in the traditional Spanish, and these masses are also more popularly known in Filipino as Simbang Gabi, or "Night Mass". The Simbang Gabi is the most important Filipino Christmas tradition.
These nine dawn Masses are also considered as a Novena by the Catholic faithful. This refers to the Roman Catholic practice of performing nine days of private or public devotion to obtain special graces.
In some parishes, the Simbang gabi begins as early as four in the morning. Going to mass this early for nine consecutive days is meant to show the churchgoer's devotion to his faith and heighten anticipation for the Nativity of the Lord. In traditional Filipino belief, however, completing the novena is also supposed to mean that God would grant the devotee's special wish or favor.
After hearing Mass, Filipino families partake of traditional Philippine Christmas delicacies, either during breakfast at home or immediately outside the church, where they are sold. Vendors offer a wealth of native delicacies, including bibingka (rice flour and egg based cake, cooked using coals on top and under), puto bumbong (a purple sticky rice delicacy which is steamed in bamboo tubes, with brown sugar and coconut shavings as condiments), salabat (hot ginger tea) and tsokolate (thick Spanish cocoa).



For Filipinos,Christmas especially Christmas Eve on Dec. 24 is the much-anticipated noche buena -- the traditional Christmas feast after the midnight mass. Family members dine together on traditional noche Buena fare, which includes the queso de bola (literally "ball of cheese;" edam cheese) and hamon (Christmas ham).In different provinces throughout the Philippines, Catholic devotees also reenact the journey of Joseph and the pregnant Blessed Virgin Mary, in search of lodging for the soon-to-be born Jesus Christ. This is the traditional panunuluyan, also called pananawagan and pananapatan.This street pageant is performed after dark on Christmas Eve, with the actors portraying Joseph and Mary going to pre-designated houses. They chant traditional songs which are meant to wake up the owner of the house as they ask for lodging, but are turned away. Finally, Joseph and Mary make their way to the parish church. Here, a simulated manger has been erected. The birth of Jesus is celebrated at midnight with the Misa de Gallo, together with hallelujahs and Christmas carols.

Apl is truly a Filipino... see this BEBOT song ( bebot means girl,babes) the lyrics were all written in tagalog , he mades Philippines proud. Way to go guys!!!.... No. But its hard to explain sometimes "what is blogging?" to them but they don't mind though coz they know im happy in what im doin' ^_^ and i truly love writing even before so they're not surprised anymore!

Yes. Definitely!.....i learned to be more open about my feelings .... have the courage now to explain my side and to listen to anyone's feelin' , sharin' both innermost thoughts and most of all .... am bein' myself now, simply as i am!! umm... who cares anyway??!! leave it.... ^_^

5) Do you only open the blogs of those who comment on your blog or you love to go and discover more by yourself?
Nope, of course I do read and check my visitors blogs ( as much as i can) but I love blog hopping too , surfing and love to discover new things around ^_^ its pretty amazing !!

6) Did you try to imagine your fellow bloggers and give them real pictures?
Yeah, Why not?? I have my Flickr here and i saw many fellow bloggers snaps too and few of them on cam ^_^ and oops I met a coool Blogger once :P ^_^

Yeah, but is there any loss ? hmm..... yeah, maybe! ;( ;(

Umm... wanna share some few good and bad things happenin' around me nowadays ;( yeah, ok here it is... Last week when i'm browsing something on net, i thought of checkin' my name on Google and to my surprised i've found out that my blog made it to Technorati's Philippine Top 100 Blogs and that for rank 100th ?!! hehe!lol! Ask me what i felt that time? honestly i felt happy of course ^_^ coz if i did not check my name that time and if im not an insomniac person haha ^_^ lol! i wouldn't know that there's something there for me to smile of. Well i dunno how they did the ranking but the only thing i know is that, at least i had taste the feelin' of being one on the Top Blogs for a while ^_^ coz i know it would be updated soon and more good blogs will come out ^_^ . Also one friend Masterbetong made it to rank 99th ^_^ cool right? And we wanna thank Yuga for posting the info on his blog.... Godbless you!

And for few things that made me upset is when i've switched my blog to Blogger-Beta, i dunno that i can't give comment to old blogger user anymore, i mean those who don't allow OTHER and ANON on comments section of their blog. Yeah, maybe i need to make one account again so i can comment to my other friends blog, yeah some of them switched now too but mostly haven't done yet. Anyway, hope Blogger works hard to fix up soon with these problems and make everything smooth for users!

Hmm...friend left ;(;( yeah, sometimes its hard to accept things that we've expected to be there and will stay at least for a while. The habits of doin' the same thing everyday , only to wake up one day that everything was gone... that its not the same anymore ;( that we're left alone again..... ;);) damnn!!

Physiologically laughter can be subcategorised into various groupings depending upon the extent and pitch of the laughter: giggles, clicks (which can be almost silent), chortles, chuckles, hoots, cackles, sniggers and guffaws are all types of laughter. Hanabi Wa Sugoi Desu!! .....

In Japanese word " 花火はすごいです!!" Hanabi wa sugoi desu! ^_^ means "Fireworks is really enormous" ^_^ Yeah, yesterday we went to Sumida Gawa Hanabi Taikai (Sumida River Fireworks Display) It was the biggest and most spectacular firework display in Tokyo and always showned live on tv but still people prefer to went out in their droves to see it coz its really worth a look. And i can say that we're lucky enough coz we are near to the place...only 10 minutes to ride by train ^_^ so we're really excited to go there esp. Rina ^_^ yeah,...she's been crazy preparing things two days ago before the festival.She can't even decide what to bring and kept asking me..Mom what i need to bring? and what bag is cool to bring? putting all her collection of bags in front of me...i told her to decide for herself coz i dunno what she wants. So when i told her what she needs to bring? she just answered me... Mom can i bring my book with me? coz we went to City Library 3 days ago and we both borrowed books to read coz she's on school vacation now and we have much time to read at home.But im not expecting that even goin' to festival she wants to bring book, so i answered her... huh! sweetie you want to bring books there? for what? ( i gave her a tiger look) ^_^ and she just answered back... Mom maybe the firework display will not starts on time so i can read in between na. Aww what the...#$%&#$?? i said nooo...coz we don't even know if we can have a space to sit especially if we will go there late...and she just said ..ok!

So the day arrives....fireworks display will start at 7 pm. so we need to go outside at least one hour before but because Rina wants to buy something to eat, we went out at 5:30 pm. so we had much time to choose what to buy. But as we got to the station, there was already a full packed of people rushing too so hubby told Rina that we have to go and get to the place much early and just buy anything to eat there when we arrived.Usually people eats while waiting like everybody do's on picnics so childrens are really happy for that.So we bought some snacks and choose the best place to sit... am really happy to see felllow Filipinos,Indians,and many other foreigners who's wearin' summer kimono's (yukata) there and we just shared hi, hellos and smiles. Am thinkin' to take many pics. to post here but only to find out that i don't have my camera with me.... SUCKS!!! yeah, i forgot to bring it because of all the rushes many days ago ( excuses again ^_^) nooo its true guys so we decided to take pics. on our own mobile camera's...hubby, rina and me but as expected its not good coz of dark shots and you can't see the real colors of the fireworks so i decided to googled ( luv ya Google ^_^) some free sites of Tokyo Fireworks professional photographer and they're sharing their personal pictures for free. Every blog we read nowadays will be about the banned of Indian Government on Blogspot for a week now, yeah that's really a bad news for us... we thought that blogging is free for Censorship but too bad maybe we're wrong now. Half of my friends are Indians so it's really upset me. But hours ago i read that the banned will be lifted within 48 hours so lets see, lets keep our finger crossed! I'm missin' my friends now ...hope they'll come back soon...

Whoaa ....Long 365 Days!

Yeyy!! I started blogging last July 17,2005, here and now i have a total of 133 posts at all ^_^ yeah i'm celebrating my one year anniversary today and i can't believe it, like it happens only a weeks ago. One ordinary day, am chattin' with my friend Ravi when he told me...why not make your own blog Kathy? coz he knows i love to write that i usually do and that's made me an idea too so i did made an account to Blogger that night.First i'm afraid if i can write regularly but when i started to do it, i felt like i've finally found my place.Yeah i really enjoyed blogging and it's been a part of my everyday life till then.




Here i've met many friends too, my first visitors and of course regular readers are Ravi,Chinu,Akshay,Aldo Rey and one day Mahes came ^_^ It's been a great time for me coz here i can write all what's on my mind that i can't even tell to anyone before and at the same time am happy to recieved emails from readers who sents overwhelming comments that gave me inspiration more.After 4-5 months i've finally had lots of friends that i've met on blog-hopping like my fellow Filipinos namely Rolly,Neng,Mmy-Lei,Melai,

Hard To Say I'm Sorry....

Oops...before you react guys, i'm not doing anything wrong ok?( hope i do)^_^ but sometimes i dunno why people are hardly to say the word " I'm Sorry " even they did something wrong?... is the word sorry a crime? that when u say it to someone, one part of your body will vanished and will lessen your points of your great personality huh huh?!!

I'm sorry to say ( see i'm telling the word now) ^_^ yeah, i love the word sorry, thank you , hugss, sweetie etc.. etc..and i hate the word bye....so what?? I just hate it ok? So instead of saying bye ....i'll tell you see ya.

Yeah, my friends kept telling me that...." Kathy why you have to say sorry and thank you for always "? It's not that i love doing wrong guys but i want to say the word when i think that i've hurt someone with my words, so by saying sorry, it's like u hug the person right away. I believe that hug is the best way of expressing your feeling how sorry and thankful you are....and how that person meant to you.But of course depends on the person were dealing with...probably the persons who mean to us naa.

I think it's related to my own traits and attitude too..i love telling jokes and teasing someone but not to the extend that i would hurt them, coz me, myself.. i can be so sensitive too sometimes. That when i heard something bad and the person involved just don't say anything that he's/she's sorry...it will upset me so bad that of course will ruined my entire day. So the next thing is i will feel bad now to that person...and i will not be comfortable again to talk.

I'm sweet.. yeah i know , it's my nature but i can be cold as ice too in a minute and when i say " enough " to one person...expect that i will never give you another look again! That's me... i know i can't please anyone but who cares? Moreover, if that person is not worth of my love.

My Crazy Wish List.....

Yeah, at last...after so many excuses i am here now doing my pending tag *sobsss* hehe..i dunno but i always end up in " i'll do it later" mode whenever i've been tagged. I need to sit up here in front of pc for several hours to do it hmm ;) so for now am givin' my best to complete this one hehe...be happy now dear Sriedhar here it is....

1*** I wish that i have my private plane ;) so i can go to Germany for the opening of " The World Cup Soccer " in Allianz Stadium today (June 9) So i can see all my favorite teams like of course our very own Japan team, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Australia,Brazil,Argentine, UK etc..etc.. in person ^_^

2*** I wish that Philippines is just a one-hour drive from here in Tokyo so i can join Mom, Dad, and 6 sisters for dinner everyday ... hehe..ok i know i'm crazy hmm... ;(

3*** I wish that i can make a post on my blog for just looking the letters on the keyboard, which i don't need to type anything because it will automatically creates one....hmm i'm lazy ^_^

Loneliness....

I've read a book last night, it was sent to me by my sis ..i think a month ago from Philippines. She loves books like me so whenever she get time to buy a new one she always sent the one she finished reading after. She knows that it's hard for me to search english books here in Japan, i mean i need to give extra time for that if i want to go to any big Bookstores in center Tokyo. But having Rina on my side , i don't have any available time for that aside from when she is in school but then i need to do household chores of course etc..etc.. so i always end up reading online at night. But i still prefer reading books at home or in City Library nearby when i get time.Anyway, i wanna share this one to you guys...the conversation of one student and her Guru...about Loneliness!

**Student=
Why do we feel lonely even we're not alone??

**Teacher=
When we're talking loneliness, we're also talking about an emptiness , isn't it? It's hard to describe ,loneliness includes other things,too,like fear. We experienced it not only when we're all by ourselves but even when we're with huge crowds of people ,with our family , friends or even after the most intimate sexual relationship that you can imagine. Some people experience great loneliness right after they have a sexual experience with someone they really love. They'll roll over on their back and they're still lonely.

**Student=
What's the root cause of loneliness ?

**Teacher=
According to Scriptures, the reason we experience loneliness is because we are away from GOD.In other words we have to view the subject of loneliness in connection and our relationship to GOD. He Himself states.." Long ago ,you knew me as your bestfriend , but now you have forgotten Me, trying to live separately from Me and enjoy separately from Me.

**Student=
So the problem is that we have now forgotten the relationship with the Lord?

**Teacher=
Yes, but that relationship is still there . It wil always be there just like water will always be wet.It's an essential part of yourself. You will always be related to God and that relationship will always be there.You can forget it but you can't end it.The reason you feel lonely is because you are now away from God. You are separate from God and this is the real root cause of loneliness. Different people experience loneliness at different times but it's the same experience. We've all experienced it and although various events can cause of loneliness to come to the forefront ,the root remains the same. No matter what the conditions are-- the country you live in,the type of government you have(capitalist or communist), the language you speak,the color your skin,your gender-- we are all sparks of God. And each of us experiences loneliness because we have left God. We are away from God because we do not have that unity with God.

But in a sense, it's good to experience loneliness if we can recognize it for what it is and let it motivate us to seek our relationship with God. In other words , turn a negative into positive. Let loneliness turn into spiritual longing for God!

Hey, I'm back guys ^_^ alive and kicking...hmm maybe alive but not kicking at all hehe ^_~ I missed ya all...umm not really maybe coz i'm reading your blogs everyday,late night i do read blogs before going to bed so even i'm in silent mode i still know what's happening around but not just commenting to anyone.Yup i was a "Ghost Reader" for long 10 days hehe...not leaving any marks to anyone ^_ but not stalker to clear you huh! hmm.. ^_^ shhh!! Keshi will bite me for that ^_^ ...and Sayan must be blame too for my behavior because he kept me waiting for his Straight Talk Express :P and even pointed me and other readers on his latest post for not bugging him anymore about it hehe...^_^ No patience from kathy... dear :P

Well, what happened to me in straight 10 days?? Umm..just feelin' totally blocked, upset in everything, self pity, been so unreasonable to everyone around me ahh..so i decided to take a break .Yeah and the worst is i didn't had enough sleep for weeks so migraine attacked me severely that changed my mood so bad.I even thought of quitting blog for good but taking a break helps a lot..how can i leave my blog that i love doing for 10 months now? how can i leave friends that i love here? probably i can't coz its my place for laugh, my place to rest for stressful everyday life and the only space i can talk freely for myself. But all is over now...i'm BAcK!!!

I'm ok naa..coz there's a good news too from one of my dearest blogger friend here Puneet Yup he's married yesterday May 27th...and i'm really happy for him coz after long wait he'll be totally happy now with his sweety!!


Congrats Puneet! I was so touched and in teary eyed when he sent me email a week ago saying..." kathy you're invited, hope you can come to India for my wedding "!Ohh my...so sweet guy, if only i can come dear , i love to ^_~ esp. on your happiest moment in life ,he's a dear friend really ^_^ but still can't believe that "the good looking and the sweetest guy" in blogger is getting married now...^_^ aww... so no more hugss and kisses showers from our dear puneet ;( arrghh!! lucky wife ^_~ ....Congratulations to your Wedding Day guys....May GOD showers you "LOVE, HAPPINESS, and BLESSINGS" in your entire life...hugss you both!

Oops....and when i've checked my blog this morning, i was so surprised to see my blogroll and the name Sudeep was updated..whoaa!! i thought "bloggers block" is a communicable disease hehe...that maybe he got from me and suffered too coz he's not updating this last few days ;) but reading his post shocked me..there was a disclaimer written ;( arrghh!! he pointed out that he's not in "block" haha whatever block it is?^_^ ...but that's not the issue...what really shocked me is about his post *kathy in teary eyes again..sobbsss!!" haha...coz it was the same tag that i need to do ^_^ .This time Shriedhar will gonna kill me for sure ;) hehe..sorry yaar , i will do it soon...have patience plss.. coz kathy is still in recovery ;( forgive me naa!The truth is i still have 2 pending tags that awaits...so another friend KD is waiting Sorryyyyy!!! ;( please wait....naa!

Aww...the last of course but not the least....my dearest friend Jo and his group ... Blogswara a bunch of Indian singers in Blogger launched their first album which the songs are written in hindi,tamil,malayalam etc..so check 'em out ^_^ they're just amazing!!

You can download their songs on the website so hurry up ,check it out.The most unbelievable thing is they are in different places... from UK, America and all over India and just gathered all by their music and did the recording and all... by the techy world of Internet so they don't need to be together in one place to do the album.
Congrats guys....and more power!I love the songs very much ^_^ .
